Build Off!! Strike Noir Raven - Part 5

Alright, ladies and gentlemen, here's a very very small update..

I was going through concepts on what i should do next and this idea came into my head... some kind of boosters on the legs just like the Mk.II u know.. so was on my scavenger hunt and I saw this thing from the HG bushido... so I used that ... that was cutted in half to make two seperate pieces, of cos

Posted Image

after that cut two strips like so...
Posted Image

and use those strips to make vents for my boosters
Posted Image
of cos those plates are cut along the angle of the vents after gluing...

after that ... I cut a portion of the calf ( is that called a calf??.. anyhow ) armour on the outside of both legs... the picture of cos show one cut and un-cut comparison.. but the other one is already cut......anyway... as you can see from the picture ..
Posted Image

and then I just glue those black booster boxes on to the side of the legs... along the cut portions...
Posted Image

I'm not sure if you guys can see it but after putting on the booster... there is a huge huge gap between the booster and the legs... and it doesn't look too blended... so.. I had to improvise ...

first off, i cut plates like so .
Posted Image

and then.... i glue then on like so..
Posted Image

the plan is to stack them and shape them and sand them to make it look integrated... and blended u know... yeah
I was planing to shoot photos every step of it ... but I was focusing so much so i forgot to take step-by-step photos so I can only show you the finished product...( well not really fnished.. still need some touch up)
Posted Image

That's the front of the legs ... and how I combine detailling and integrating....

not really a massive update.. but I hope you guys will like it... next stop.... the back of the calf...

Build Off!! Strike Noir Raven - Part 4

Alright, what i did in this update is just some refinement on the side skirts ( i just can't be satified with them) and some prelimilary works on the back skirts..

lets start with the back skirts...
cut it in twain...
Posted Image

and i cut the side skirts too..
Posted Image

and in the following picture -
Posted Image
you will see that i cut out a pair of large plate and I glued them cut back skirts first and then use the plates to glue the cut side skirts onto the back skirts.. .and with the presence of the plate, much better stability if acheived.

this is how its gonna look in general, ( still not finished yet.. just wanna show you guys how it would look )
Posted Image

Im happy with that, all that's left for me to do is some touch up and so, i moved to continue refining the bloody side skirts,
Im not really suer if you guys can see in this photo
Posted Image
but, i put three plates together infront and at the back of the ic pins... That was done so because.. when i attached the gun to the skirts, as much as it offers stability, it looks crap.. with a big gap between the gun and the skirts...
As you can see from this photo here
Posted Image

Im happy with that... Again, can't really acheived perfect symmentry.. but still better then the ugly thing

and i was looking around on the skirts and i thought i still need some more works... so,
Posted Image
If you wondering why that graph paper is doing there, its a paper tamplete stuck on another identical pieces by means of double tape..
and I glued on a plate on top of the skirt, which can be seen here on the photo ..
Posted Image

and this is generally how my noir looks now..

more to come, stay tuned

Build Off!! Strike Noir Raven - Part 3

Here's a little update to the guns i was working on -

Aulon suggested me to make the handles foldable and I completely agree with him.. so I worked on that...
This is how I planned it after cutting off the handles -
Posted Image

And I hollowed out the bottom of the gun for the trigger part to hide into the gun and the handle to have a smooth motion gimmick when folded..
Posted Image

And next stop, its the handle it self... I make the handls foldable by first cutting out these plates and drilled one hole in each of them -
Posted Image

And I drilled a hole through the handle so that there is a ''hinge'' for the handle to swing, and I'm using a small Rod for the hinge -
Posted Image

and while I was working on, something hit me... the stability of the attached gun.. so I decided to put in a little something to make the gun stable when docked -
Posted Image
1- cut a hole on the top side of the guns
2- use putty to hold the IC sockets in palce
3 - just glued the gun up again

after that,, I just glued those plates that i drilled with the handles attached to it like so and I am so glad that i have achieved that function
Posted Image

As you can see, the underside of the guns is still bare so i decided to make something like this -
Posted Image
Do u guys see that cicrle with an A on it?? see a plate on the back of the handle?? that is glued so that i can use my finger and take out the handles... i wast just looking at the WZC rifles and got that idea..

and i wanted the barrel to look much much different so I kinda went with this -
Posted Image

I admit, i based that from the NG Legend..

and Voila, This is the over all result of my guns -
Posted Image

Next step, the docking site on the skirts .. Stay Tuned,

Build Off!! Strike Noir Raven - Part 2

A little update... not a very very big one as i plan to make this a relaxing build-

not really that much to say either... just cutting and pasting plates onto the torso -

cut these two babies
Posted Image

IT wasn't easy making them symentrical

and glueing them on like so -
Posted Image
of cos, naturally, they were glued on both sides

cut two pieces of plates and glued them like so -
Posted Image

again, cut two pieces and glued them like so.. (these two pieces were much easier to cute)
Posted Image

and i wanted my noir to havea raised collar so extend the collar by stacking with small strips...
Posted Image
Posted Image
ႈ

And I thought i was gonna make this a relaxing build.. ha... ( turns out to be a big update .. :P )
As you can see from this picture -
Posted Image

I made the white slot thingy that is going to hold ''something'' (won't say it now, read on ahead..

I do apologize as i forgot to take photos of that specific white slot part...

moving on.. that white part is attached to the recycled back skirt of the FG arios by means of glue and
as you can see from the picture -
Posted Image
I put in some putty up there and I just put stick a ''double-peg'' that I recycled from the 1/144 Aegis... That is of cos, for this specif whole part to go into some where...

Afterward, I glued a plate onto that orange part like so -
Posted Image

still not happy with it and glued on another plate like so -
Posted Image

Was happy with that.. so i moved on to the guns that i wanted to mod -
Posted Image
That is how much i have cut up the gun... the orginal gun is just too awful... just aweful... cut up the stupid barrel and reduced the gun in length... Still need to make a new barrell and front section for each gun...and I think the handle and the bottom part is really really bare.. Can somebody advise me what to put in there?? thanks in advance

noticed that raised rear butt ( don't get me wrong, that's how it is actually called on a gun)???? That raised butt is for to acheive this gimmick -
Posted Image

that's done.... I just need some more details and to bulk up the orange parts and lengthen them ( maybe )
And after looking back at the kit and much consideration, I went with this configuration...
Posted Image

As usual, thank you for your support and Stay Tuned for More to come

Build Off!! Strike Noir Raven - Part 1

Hello dear readers.

As you all know... that Aulon guy and I are having a build off with the same kit ... the strike noir... He made his WIP before telling me and getting head start and all that... nah-unh... not anymoe.. Cos the Hummingbird is tweeting and flapping his little wings and catching up to Aulon....

This is just a fun build off.. ( which become a real fight now)... we were just talking and one thing led to another (it doesn't mean anything lol) and, well.. here we are ... having a build off, sharing techniques and methods...

I can say that I am proud to be having a Build off with the man who invented the ''bottle cap'' technique....

alright, on to the W.I.P.... Not exactly a big one.. but..

I will not say what is this - ( just wanted to tease you guys )... but i will only drop a pic.... I made it by the ''sandwich'' technique.... the middle one is of course a thinner plate....
Posted Image

Confused?? don't know what is that??? well.. I will give you a hint.. remeber Blade II?? remember the gun Reinhardt was using???
If you don't, well take a look at the photo -

Posted Image

Ta-da.. that's right... pistol blades .... Thanks to Kamm for giving me help ful advice..

I really hated the gap between the blade and the handle so .... i did this
Posted Image

nothing fancy... just platings here and there ... of cos, it was applied to both of the pistol...

still need a lot of works and need to add in more details... will work on it later on..

put a teeny tiny amount of plates on -
Posted Image
and for the love of god, i still have the symmentry issue... but, improved alot since 2 years ago....

and the noir happy with upgrades to his pistols -....
Posted Image

That's that for now.. this is gonna be a more or less relaxed build... so won't be any major moddings ( OR IS IT?? that's gonna be a mystery )

thanks for droppping by... Stay Tuned

2000 hits in two months

Wow, my noobish blog has just reached 2000+ page view within two months of creation. By standard, that is not a very bad start. I was afraid of not reaching even this much but fortunately, it did.

I want to say - THANK YOU to all my dear readers who take their time to spend looking at my noobish blog as well as the few followers I have. You guys are awesome. Without you guys, this blog would be nothing. Thank you all very much and your support is very much apprecaited.

As a thank you to my readers, I will be making some changes to the blog, make it more cooler, and better but not right now as I am still recovering from, well, a broken heart. haha.

Anyway, thank you, again, and stay Tune for more to come.

Video made for the first time

Hello dear readers.

Not really much to say, i just felt like making a blog post :). Inspired by the one of the closest of friends and one of the ultra-mega-cool youtuber of all time, our MAC's dear old Kamm, I have decided to make a video of my finished kit.

I had no idea what I was doing but luckily, I stumbled upon a nice website that allows you to do pretty nice video editing. Of cos, video editing is not my strong point so my video is not as great as kamm's vidoes or aulon's or any other vidoes out there. But, I did give it my best and well, hope you guys will love this video....

Without further ado, I present to you, the Scratch Building Shinigami's very first video .......

Thank you for reading and Stay Tuned for more.
